A layout for Scrap 'N' Craft with T ...

A few weeks ago, on January 1, 2010, I made this layout. I made it for the 'Scrap 'N' Craft with T blog'. If you'd like to see more details and read step by step instructions, please visit the blog HERE ... I don't believe in New Year's resolutions as such, but I think it is worth to check our attitude regularly, that's why I made this layout ...

A few layouts from the last week(s) ...

First let me share 'Week 3' and 'Week 4' of my 'Year in Review 2010 Album' ... I made a page about my new scrapbooking friends at 'De Scrapheap' ... such wonderful ladies!

My page for Week 4 is about being content with what we have and not get too greedy when sales are on. January is known for massive sales here in the Netherlands and I am really trying not to get too caught up in spending money on things we don't really need. The journaling on the right page is from the Bible:

1 Timothy 6:6-8 (The Message)
'A devout life does bring wealth, but it's the rich simplicity of being yourself before God. Since we entered the world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that's enough.'

The layout below I made for a contest on PageMaps. I always love Becky's sketches and this one was fun to work with!

The layout about Rick was made for an online crop at Home and Scrapped. We had to use a quote on our page and the one I used seemed so right for Rick.

This layout was made for an online crop at De Scrapheap. I wanted to scrap this photo of my dear Australian friend Janine and her family for ages, but I always got too upset to even look at the picture, because I miss her so much. Today I decided it was time to actually scrap a page about one of the best friends I have!

A workshop and 'a desperate housewife ...'

Last Friday I attended a workshop 'Tim Holz Techniques' at De Scrapheap. Our wonderful instructor, Els, taught us many, many wonderful techniques. Can you believe that the only paper we used was WHITE cardstock and some brown cardstock for the background and the matting of the photos?
We used stamps, ink, paint, embossing powder, etc. to create our own backgrounds and embellishments. We all had a wonderful time! Thanks once again, Els!

I recently read the book 'Passionate Housewives, desperate for God' by Jennie Chancey & Stacy McDonald. When I saw an online challenge at Home & Scrapped to create a layout using one or more 'poppets' I knew straight away that I wanted to do a layout with the same title as the book. Inspired by a vintage advertisment, I created this layout:

Some scrapping from this week ...

This week I have participated in some challenges at the Dutch site 'De Scrapheap'. This layout is part of the monthly challenge:
This is the second 'page' of my 'Year in review 2010' album:

This layout is about my niece and nephew, who we didn't know until we moved back to the Netherlands last year.

One of my published layouts ...

Quite some time ago I sent a few layouts to a scrapbooking magazine in the UK to see if they would publish any of them. Through an email I had heard that they would publish a few, but I wasn't exactly sure when and which ones. When I opened the most recent issue of the magazine, I noticed one of my most personal layouts (about my faith and belief in God) has been published. What a lovely surprise!

My first DT layout for Scrap 'N' Craft with T ...

Every Friday Tanyah will post one of my DT layouts or projects on the Scrap 'N' Craft blog. This week she posted my first project: a layout about Vicki Boutin (one of my scrapbooking heroes) and me. I also made step-by-step instructions for Tanyah's blog. Click HERE to see the post and all the instructions and details!

Another challenge and some scrapping ...

This month's challenge at Scrappassion is to create a layout with the theme: 'I love Holland' ... well ... I just love Dutch cheese, so it was an easy choice for me. I wanted to 'play' with the idea of people saying 'cheese' for the camera combined with my love of cheese. I added the ribbon to also have a bit of the Dutch flag on my layout. The windmill ribbon also contributed to the Dutch 'feel' ... If you can think of an idea for a layout in this theme; you can participate until the end of January!

A group of girls at De Scrapheap suggested to make a 'Year in Review' album for the year 2010. I have always wanted to do something like that, so this year I am going to participate and make a layout each week. There are the cover and the first few pages I have made so far:

Dare To Use Color - Dare # 25 Red-Blue

As a newly 'appointed' member of the Creative Team of Dare To Use Color, I will announce their monthly challenges on my blog. Since it is a Dutch site, I thought it might be a good idea to explain the dares (a.k.a. challenges) in English too. Dare To Use Color is about using two different colours each month. This month, the dare is to use only red and blue on your project. This could be a layout, but it can also be an OTP. This is the layout I made for the challenge:

If you would like to participate, please email Hinke your layout before the end of the month. The winner will be chosen by the Creative Team. The winner receives a gift certificate for De Scrapheap and the runner up can earn some money for free prints from Webprint!

Obviously these sites are based in the Netherlands, so the overseas postage for the products will be at your own cost. But ... it might be a nice challenge to participate in anyway!

There is one extra rule though: you are not allowed to show your project or layout anywhere else until after the voting ... I would love to see some layouts from some of my blog visitors and friends!

I am invited to be a Designer at Scrap 'N' Craft with T !

Scrap N Craft With T Yes, it is official, because Tanyah, the owner of Scrap 'N' Craft with T announced her new Design Team on her blog today! I already created some layouts and cards for the site, but I didn't want to announce it before Tanyah did!

So ... 2010 is going to be a year with lots of scrapping, since I am now in three teams: Dare To Use Color, Scrappassion and Scrap 'N' Craft with T. I love that two of the sites are here in the Netherlands, so I can meet the girls in real life. I also love that Scrap 'N' Craft is in Australia, where we lived for many years. I think 2010 is going to be awesome!

Happy New Year and another CT announcement!

Siebe took this picture of us last night; Happy New Year to all of you!

I also have an announcement to make: I am a new member of the Scrappassion Challenge Blog Creative Team! I had been following the blog for a while and after I won last month, Ria asked me to be a part of the CT for 2010!

I love the variety of challenges on the Scrappassion Challenge Blog and I am looking forward to creating some layouts for them!
