A very white Christmas?

Yes .. we finally got a thick layer of snow, so we could have snowball fights! The kids loved it! Today we'll build a snowman ... so much fun ... it looks like a 'white Christmas' for us indeed!

Some scrapping and an award ...

During a so called 'speed scrap' at ScrapDelight I created the layout below. With the leftovers I created a card as well ....
During an online crop at De Scrapheap I created this layout about our dear friend Sam, who is like a brother to us. The layout is scraplifted from a layout by Beverly Warwick.

Annie gave me the 'Your Blog Is Fabulous Award'... Thanks, Annie! When you receive this award, you have to mention five things that you love, which are:
  1. Jesus, my Saviour;
  2. Siebe, my beloved husband;
  3. Rick, Tom and Emma, our wonderful children;
  4. My friends, and of course ...
  5. SCRAPBOOKING!

I am passing this award on to five other people:

  1. Karen Latham, my dear friend and sister in Christ;
  2. Melinda Spinks, who inspires me with her amazing work;
  3. Melissa Docking, a good friend whom I miss very much;
  4. Dithny van den Burg, a new online friend;
  5. Angele Keulen, a new real life scrapping friend!

The first snow in years ...

Last night it started snowing! The kids haven't seen snow since they were 2 and 3 years old, so this is another new experience for them. They still ride to school on their bikes, which means they had to dress themselves nice and warm for the ride. These are some photos I took this morning ...

It is freezing today ...

We put up our Christmas tree and some decorations ... since it is dark so early these days, it is nice to have the Christmas light on all day!

In the last few days the temparature has been below zero, which means it is truly FREEZING! This is a new experience for the kids, since we never had these sorts of temparatures around Adelaide. The kids put water in a bucket and it didn't take long to freeze. Obviously they had to 'play' with the ice ... Some of our windows are covered with ice too. It looks stunning!

I am part of the Creative Team of Dare To Use Color!

Hinke, from Dare To Use Color has asked me to join their Creative Team. I have been participating at Dare To Use Color for over a year now and I love their challenges, so it was an easy decision! I said 'yes'! I like their blog and challenges, but I am also looking forward to regular 'team meetings' to get together to scrap and chat!

The challenge for December was to create a layout using the colours orange and green. This is what I made:
